Memory Lane

Out there amongst the many who served at Seletar there are piles and piles of great and funny and interesting stories and photos and new clips from when you were there.

In the short time since we started the Memory Lane section a number of members and non members alike have been in touch to express their thanks. We are extremely grateful to Mike Rees for taking the time and trouble he in sending his enjoyable and great memory jogging stuff. As the editor of this website I was whisked back in time and many old crumbling mental images came back into focus. I didn't arrive there for nearly six years following Mike's posting home - I was surprised to see the place hadn't really changed at all in that time. Our thanks also go out to Derek Lehrle for his contributions of many great pictures of aircraft from when Derek was there.

The excellent contribution from John Giddens whose father the late Wing Commander Peter Giddens was based at Seletar from December 1951 thro June 1954 is a fascinating collection of memorabilia. John shares with the Association a very personal record his father kept of his time at Seletar all those years ago.

Harry Dobkin recently sent some great images in from his collection. Thanks Harry.

Seletar is fading for many so please see what you can do to revitalise things and grabbing a bit of limelight in the bargain!

So, out with the shoe boxes and those old carrier bags and get rummaging! Please.

Many thanks.

Eddie (Matt) Dillon
